Moon & Stars is a collaboration piece with the AI image generating app WOMBO Dream. As one of the assignments for my art class, the goal of this piece was to explore originality and artistry. The app was given the prompt “Moon & Stars” in order to generate an image. I then took the image and created paintings from sections of the piece that I resonated with. The image was created through a large dataset of preexisting work, but the image was interpreted through my eyes and painted on a canvas. This raises the question: who is the artist behind the work?
- Disclaimer: This piece was made before AI image generation/chat bots were widespread and popular. With my current knowledge and understanding of AI, I do not condone using AI image generation to create artwork since it steals data from artists 🙂
